About the Role
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re looking for a Project Accountant (Pricing) to join our team at Lockheed Strategic Systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge defence and space programmes that support the UK’s national security and space interests.
Location: Helensburgh (Hybrid – 2 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Work Schedule: 4-day workweek (Monday – Thursday)
As a Project Accountant (Pricing), you will play a crucial role in shaping pricing strategies and managing financial operations for major defence and space projects. Your responsibilities will include:
✅ Proposal Management & Pricing
1. Supporting the FP&A Manager in leading financial and business aspects of proposal management.
2. Developing complex pricing models for large multi-year programmes.
3. Ensuring compliance with internal and customer pricing policies.
✅ Business Strategy & Analysis
4. Conducting business case analysis and cost modelling.
5. Performing cash flow analysis and shaping bid strategies.
6. Supporting risk and opportunity assessments.
✅ Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance
7. Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on pricing issues, including Single Source Procurement Regulations.
8. Liaising with Single Source Regulations Office, Cost Assurance & Analysis Service, and other key stakeholders.
9. Presenting proposals to internal approvals boards and supporting customer interactions.
✅ Continuous Improvement & Growth
10. Leading pricing function transformation efforts.
11. Collaborating with Global Business Development & Strategy to support future business growth.
12. Assisting in the setup and handover of new contracts.
Security Clearance Requirement
The successful candidate must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC). More details can be found .
Required skills, qualifications and experience
13. Project Accountant or Pricing Analyst background with demonstrable experience of complex / highly regulated contracts
14. Knowledge of the Single Source Pricing Regime and statutory guidance.
15. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - ability to brief complex commercial issues to senior management together with mitigation.
16. Highly proficient Microsoft Excel modelling skills.
Desired skills, qualifications and experience
17. Professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or similar)
18. Experience of MOD / DE&S contracts policy.
19. Proven experience in a customer-facing capacity, preferably with MOD.
20. Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously.
21. Ability to work without appreciable direction.
22. Knowledge of rate structures and their construction.

Lockheed Martin UK – Strategic Systems (LMUK SS) is the single contractor providing specialist Waterfront In-Service Support to one of the Royal Navy's Submarine Programs. The company provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support.
