The team…
As part of IT Services within the Resources and Digital Directorate, our Digital Skills team take a strategic, proactive approach to ensuring all employees have the digital competencies, confidence, and access needed to thrive in a modern, technology-driven workplace. This approach will empower colleagues, to deliver on Council priorities, and shape the future of our services through adoption of innovative digital solutions.
The team's role is to build a high-performing, digitally skilled workforce by designing and delivering innovative training and awareness programs, ensuring every employee is equipped with the modern tools and knowledge they need to excel in their role.
About the role…
Responsibilities
* Design, deliver, and update IT training plans and educational programs—including induction training for new and transitioning employees—ensuring all materials reflect the latest software trends.
* Assess training needs, work closely with corporate managers and project teams to identify requirements, and recommend effective learning solutions.
* Maintain learner records and analyse training effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
* A strong understanding of learning principles, local government structures, and IT cybersecurity.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 training.
* Excellent communication, presentation, organisational, and report writing skills.
* The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, even under pressure.
* An understanding of learning styles, coupled with the ability to adapt based on mixed group of abilities and changes to software.
* Experience in designing, developing, and delivering learning and development programmes, including classroom based, floor-walking, e-learning, and webinar.
* Performing IT and digital skills needs assessments.
* Evaluating effectiveness of training programmes and learning outcomes.

* You'll be paid a competitive salary £39,152 to £41,771 pa.
