An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to manage our two Carlisle Extra Care services, Heysham Gardens and Burnside Court. Both are well established and well regarded services. They have vibrant and established care teams providing compassionate support to older adults. The services ensure support cover during the day and operate waking night support if needed. The service is registered with the CQC for Personal Care and maintains good systems and processes to ensure quality service delivery. The role requires registration with the CQC as the Registered Manager and meeting the expectations of local authority commissioners and the contract, which holds a 'Good' rating with the Care Quality Commission.
You will have the values and commitment to lead staff to provide high standards of customer care and person-centred service, promoting independence, choice, and wellbeing. The role involves operational management and supervision of a Deputy Manager and Support Workers.
You will work effectively with families, other agencies, and maintain positive relationships with on-site Housing Scheme Managers. Skills in contract and relationship management are essential. You will undertake quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with care standards. Given the busy nature of the service, strong organisational skills, accountability, and a hardworking attitude are necessary.
This opportunity involves working with other agencies to provide a holistic approach to meeting older adults' needs. You will respond to referrals, undertake assessments, and ensure personalised care plans are in place to meet individual needs and preferences.
Candidates should have relevant skills, knowledge, and at least three years of management experience in care settings supporting older people, such as extra care, home care, or residential care. Previous staff supervision and management experience are required. A warm, caring, and person-centred approach, along with a commitment to re-ablement principles, dignity, and independence, is essential. We seek someone with a proactive, hands-on approach who can serve as a positive role model.
