Job Summary
To provide full support to Sonographers performing Ultrasound scans for patients referred to the service.
To undertake the care and reassurance of patients undergoing ultrasound scans in a professional and empathetic manner, including acting as a chaperone for all ultrasound scans.
To contribute to the smooth running of the Ultrasound Service and work closely with all other staff.
Travel is required.
Job Responsibilities
* Provide support to Sonographers during ultrasound scans.
* Set up and tidy the clinic room prior to each clinic.
* Collect patients from the waiting room and escort them into the clinic.
* Enter patient details accurately onto the Ultrasound machine.
* Explain preparatory requirements and ensure correct positioning of patients.
* Act as a chaperone and attend to patients' needs with empathy.
* Adhere to patient confidentiality and comply with Data Protection.
* Transfer Ultrasound machines and consumables between sites.
* Maintain clinic rooms in line with clinical/IPC standards.
* Participate in IPC audits and site assessments.
* Contribute to clinical audits.
* Carry out clerical duties and use the IPMC system.
* Transfer all patient images to CIMAR at the end of each clinic.
* Attend Advanced Imaging Assistant meetings.
* Establish excellent working relationships with Sonographers, Operations staff, GP staff and resolve any clinic issues.
* Take part in the appraisal system and complete e‑learning or other training.
* Willing to undertake additional tasks as delegated.
Person Specification
* Experience working in a team, customer/patient facing role.
* Experience in a healthcare setting (desirable).
* Ability to travel throughout the region to cover multiple sites.
* Eligibility to reside and work in the UK.
* Good general health and physical fitness.
* Enhanced DBS will be required; references will be taken.

Band 3 – Salary £25,459.20 per year | Fixed term contract, 10 months full‑time | Locations: Wilson Health Centre, The Devereux Centre, Hadwen Health, Abbeydale, Cirencester Hospital, Forest Of Dean Community Hospital, Stow Surgery, Stroud General Hospital, Cleevelands Medical Centre.
