Position Overview
DPL is seeking a talented and experienced Tekla proficient Senior Draughtsman to join our team. In this role, you will lead the creation of detailed technical drawings and models for steel fabrication and construction projects. You will work closely with our design, engineering, site and fabrication teams to ensure project requirements are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate and detailed technical drawings and 3D models for structural steel fabrication
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to develop design solutions that meet project specifications and deadlines.
* Review and interpret engineering calculations, engineers, drawings, and project requirements to create precise and practical fabrication drawings.
* Oversee and mentor junior draughtsmen, providing guidance and quality assurance on their work.
* Identify and resolve design discrepancies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
* Utilise Tekla to deliver high-quality drawings and models.
* Maintain clear documentation of all revisions, changes, and updates to project drawings.
* Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to continually enhance DPL's drafting capabilities.
* Contribute to DPL's mission of sustainability by integrating eco-conscious practices into design and drafting processes.
Qualifications and Skills
* Must have Minimum of 3 years experience using Tekla Structures
* Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, materials, and structural design principles.
* Ability to read, interpret, and create detailed technical drawings and schematics.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide and support junior team members.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to project delivery.
* Relevant certifications or qualifications in drafting, engineering, or a related field.
