The Opportunity
As the Purchase Ledger Team Leader, you’ll oversee the day‑to‑day running of the purchase ledger function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong supplier relationships. You’ll lead a small team, drive process improvements, and support the Finance Manager in delivering a smooth month‑end close.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment, enjoys mentoring others, and takes pride in delivering high‑quality financial work.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the Purchase Ledger team, providing coaching, guidance, and workload management
* Ensure accurate invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, and payment runs
* Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in line with company policies
* Resolve supplier queries promptly and professionally
* Work closely with internal departments to improve processes and communication
* Support month‑end activities, including accruals and reporting
* Identify opportunities for efficiency and implement best practice across the ledger function

* Strong experience within purchase ledger / accounts payable
* Previous leadership or supervisory experience (or a clear desire to step into leadership)
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Confident communicator with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
* Proactive mindset with a passion for improving processes
