Paralegal - Residential Conveyancing
Location: Sleaford, Lincolnshire
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.15pm (36.25 hours per week)
An established and reputable law firm is seeking an Experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to join its busy Residential Conveyancing team in Sleaford. This role offers the chance to handle a broad range of conveyancing matters in a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
The position involves assisting with and undertaking routine residential and other conveyancing work. You will need to be organised, able to work to tight deadlines, and committed to delivering excellent client service.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting fee earners with a caseload of conveyancing matters and providing cover when needed
* Preparing client quotations
* Conducting property searches
* Liaising with estate agents
* Preparing standard contract documentation
* Assisting with enquiries and managing transactions from exchange to completion
* Handling post-completion formalities, including Stamp Duty Land Tax, Companies House, and Land Registry registrations
* Managing file closures
You will also be involved in departmental initiatives to promote the firms conveyancing services and enhance its reputation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Providing an ongoing service to existing clients
* Working with colleagues to develop new business opportunities
* Contributing to departmental growth and maximising cross-referrals across the business
* Achieving fee income targets and agreed objectives
* Staying informed about legal and procedural changes in conveyancing
* Maintaining and improving legal skills
* Managing financial aspects of matters, including cash flow, payments on account, and billing
* Recording time spent on client and internal work accurately
* Ensuring work is carried out to the firms quality and risk management standards
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience as a Conveyancing Paralegal
* A solid understanding of residential conveyancing processes
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
* Familiarity with case management systems and Solicitors Accounts Rules
* A clear understanding of Money Laundering Regulations
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organisational and planning abilities
* The ability to prioritise effectively and work well under pressure
Experience with Visual Files case management is desirable.
