Role overview:
As a Construction Estimator, you will form part of the estimating and sales teams, contributing to targets and company objectives both renewals and new opportunities within Mission Critical Solutions.
What you'll do:
1. Conduct accurate building estimates for a range of projects within the MCS portfolio
2. Propose innovative solutions to deliver client requirements
3. Use your industry knowledge to keep abreast of competitors' methodologies
4. Provide information and prepare and compile proposal submissions including solution and option appraisal of new methods of Project delivery to identify valid and viable commercial delivery options
5. Proactive approach to continuous improvement in communications, management procedures, and systems to maximise profitability and operational efficiencies
6. Management of the implementation of ‘best practice’
7. Management of the implementation of common practice across the division to ensure meaningful commercial and operational data are established
8. Obtaining specialist subcontractor costs
9. Read and understand client requests/documentation
10. Attend site visits as required across the UK as part of the bid process
11. Assist in the production of correspondence and documentation
12. Update Pipeline Reporting System and contribute to the generation of BD Management information reports
13. Progress submitted tenders
14. Assist in formulation of tender returns
15. Establish agreed benchmarks for performance
16. Measure performance versus contracted requirements
17. Identify cost-saving initiatives in line with contractual obligations
18. Interact with client organisations as required, providing reports and proactive data and information.
Person Specification:
Who you'll be:
1. Educated to HNC/HND standard (or equivalent)
2. Ideally have experience in Data Centre projects
3. Excellent time management skills
4. Relevant estimating experience within a main contractor
5. Proficient IT skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
6. Must have a driving licence to travel to sites
This role can be based anywhere in the south of the UK, with regular travel to customer sites and our Eastleigh office.
