Responsibilities
The Horticulture & Site Coordinator is a skilled, hands‑on role responsible for the practical delivery and coordination of horticultural activities across a diverse wildlife friendly site. Reporting to Horticulture, Conservation & Site Lead, practical horticultural knowledge is essential. The role includes running volunteer sessions, facilitating group activities, supporting training delivery, and Horticulture and Site Coordinator coordinating work across the diverse gardens of Lindengate. There are shady and sunny areas, orchards, woodlands, a nature reserve, vegetable growing beds, structured designed gardens and wildlife friendly ponds. You will need to understand how to grow both horticultural and wildflower plants and trees, and the application of no dig methods and cultural and environmental methods. The role includes contributing to the plant and produce sales. An in depth knowledge of growing vegetables both in both polytunnels, greenhouses and outside environments is essential whilst supporting wellbeing through nature.
Qualifications - Essential
* Experience of successfully working with volunteers, community groups and young people.
* Horticultural qualifications (e.g., RHS Level 2-3) or proven experience; strong practical horticultural knowledge, including food growing.
* Used to working with no dig methods and best organic growing practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrate an understanding of mental health needs. Ability to support wellbeing-focused sessions and adapt tasks inclusively.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and site safety management.
* Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to Lindengate’s mission of supporting mental, physical and social wellbeing through nature-based activities.
* Ability to work outdoors in all conditions year-round.
