An rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial function across multiple high-value commercial landscaping projects. The role offers real autonomy, long-term stability, with the opportunity to progress into leadership.
Are you a self-sufficient Quantity Surveyor with experience in Landscapes, Groundworks or Civils? Do you want to hold a key Quantity Surveying role where you will report to directors and have genuine input of processes? Are you looking for long term progression and the chance to potentially manage a team?
The business operates as a main contractor delivering commercial landscaping projects across London and the South East, with project values up to £7M. With over 50 years of trading history and a turnover around £20m, the company combines stability with a forward-thinking approach, working directly with clients across public sector, local authority, and landmark schemes including museums and civic spaces.
You will take full responsibility for the contractual and commercial management of multiple live projects, supporting operational teams from pre-contract through to final account. This is a hands-on role within a lean commercial structure, reporting into the company directors.
This role will suit a confident and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable working independently, managing stakeholders, and taking accountability for outcomes across several projects.
With clear plans to grow the commercial department, this role offers a genuine pathway into senior or management-level positions while retaining technical involvement. You'll gain exposure, autonomy, and long-term security within a respected contractor.
Responsibilities
* Full ownership of commercial and contractual management across live projects
* Managing change control, variations, applications for payment, and final accounts
* Monitoring costs, maintaining budgets, and implementing cost control strategies
* Supporting delivery teams to ensure margins, performance, and client satisfaction
Requirements
* Proven Quantity Surveying experience within a main contractor environment
* Background in landscaping, groundworks, civils preferred
* Strong commercial awareness with cost control and contract administration expertise
* Confident, self-sufficient, and comfortable working with clients
