Job Purpose: Define, develop, deliver and verify the cost of ownership attribute at vehicle, system and component level for all Aston Martin vehicle programmes. The attribute combines subjective and objective Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that influence the customer perception of the brand and market segment vehicle derivatives. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the definition, development and verification of the cost of ownership attribute (Service cost of ownership, Insurance group ratings, Vehicle lease costs, Vehicle Recovery, Warranty forecast) at vehicle, system and component level (subjectively and objectively), using virtual and physical prevention and detection events across all Aston Martin vehicle derivatives Establish a direct stakeholder network with key commodity, attribute teams and business functions to enable the definition, delivery and futuring of the attribute (Vehicle Durability, Piece Cost Estimating, Commodity Teams, Concept & Package, Manufacturing, Service) Establish an indirect stakeholder network for the supporting interfaces and attribute input parameters for the attribute (e.g Manufacturing, Service, Marketing, Product Strategy, Quality Electrical and Software Technology team, component supply base etc) Collaborate with Advanced Product Creation (APC) team to scope and define appropriate research and benchmark initiatives to develop and future the cost of ownership attribute and enable development of appropriate specifications and standards Define and develop the cost of ownership attribute strategy and deployment roadmap that aligns to the brand DNA and Aston Martin vehicle and market derivatives Develop the cost of ownership attribute Bill of Design (BoD), Bill of Process (BoP) to capture and demonstrate Aston Martin DNA and best practice vs Best in Class (BiC) benchmark examples Track and publish cost of ownership attribute requirements, standards, specifications, test procedures and best practice guidelines that align to the brand DNA and Aston Martin vehicle and market derivatives Embed cost of ownership attribute methodology into the wider business (attribute, commodity teams and business functions) to ensure the attribute becomes fully integrated within the wider business Manage the cost of ownership attribute team to scope and execute the verification plan at appropriate levels (Vehicle, system, component), (virtual and physical) within the constraints of function, cost, timing and quality of event Be recognised as the authority for all aspects of the cost of ownership attribute Review commodity team foundation DFMEA’s and DVP’s to ensure appropriate cost of ownership attribute requirements are cascaded, tracked, measured and reported Review “voice of the customer” feedback from stakeholder network to ensure Aston Martin DNA is delivered to quality and the attribute roadmap protects and futures the attribute Develop an attribute review process at the appropriate programme gateway and build phases to capture status vs target with key stakeholders and internal customers Lead and manage cost of ownership attribute budget; facilities, vehicles, consumables, resources, spares etc to support programme delivery Ensure cost of ownership attribute issues are tracked and robustly contained and counter-measured using agreed issue tracking and reporting tools throughout the programme gateway process Publish engineering reports to support the above. Qualification & Experience: Proven experience working within an Automotive OEM or adjacent representative sector in manufacturing, Service or Cost Estimating. Proven ability in attribute delivery through product delivery framework process Experience of high volume / niche vehicle (low volume) programmes An experienced automotive leader of indirect teams Sound commercial and financial awareness. Must have excellent analytical skills, with experience in applying statistical analysis techniques Experience with interfacing with direct and indirect customers and translating “voice of the customer” feedback into attribute targets Must be proficient with the use of all common Microsoft Office applications Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Engineering degree or equivalent with a materials or vehicle attribute bias desirable.
