Process Technician
Salary: £35,868 - £44,835
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Blackburn Meadows, S9 1HF
As a Process Technician at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for operating process plant used in the treatment of industrial wastes. You’ll play a key role in ensuring waste is handled safely, efficiently and in line with environmental and regulatory requirements.
This is a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?
- Operating process plant to treat industrial waste safely and efficiently
- Offloading and treating waste in line with procedures, method statements and risk assessments
- Planning work around incoming waste to ensure regulatory and operational compliance
- Monitoring plant and equipment and reporting faults or potential issues
- Carrying out routine preventative maintenance on fixed and mobile plant
- Keeping accurate records of waste processed, operating conditions and plant performance
- Communicating effectively with site staff, contractors and drivers
- Operating mobile plant equipment for loading, unloading and site movements
- Supporting continuous improvement by contributing to procedures and safe systems of work
- Providing cover for colleagues when required
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties in line with your skills and experience
What are we looking for?
- Experience within a process (chemical) or waste treatment environment
- Knowledge of the waste industry
- Lift truck licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience operating plant or mobile equipment (desirable)
- Ability to plan and prioritise work in a fast-moving environment
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
- LGV licence
- ADR licence
