Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist – Intensive Service

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Intensive Service team in Swindon. This post has arisen due to the current incumbent relocating. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive group of consultants already practicing in the locality and will also support a Specialty Doctor. The post holder is expected to work flexibly within a dynamic team while continuing to develop professionally.
Responsibilities
* Provide daily 24‑hour rapid assessment and treatment for individuals in crisis.
* Agree a plan of care and deliver intensive treatment in the patient’s home to reduce distress and promote recovery.
* Coordinate dedicated treatment in specialist hospitals when appropriate, ensuring smooth transfer and support for the individual on discharge back home.
* Act as the gate‑keeping and discharging agent for inpatient services.
