Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Control Valve Technician to join our team at Wilton Works in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, calibration, and testing of a wide range of control valves and actuators in line with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, overhaul, and repair a variety of control valves, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuator types.
* Calibrate valve positioners and instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and compliance with specifications.
* Perform diagnostics and fault-finding on valve control systems.
* Conduct functional and pressure testing of control valves and related components.
* Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental procedures, including safety checks on tools and equipment.
* Accurately record all valve maintenance and testing data in the Valve Management Database.
* Promote and demonstrate the company’s Core Values in all aspects of daily work.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering, ONC in Engineering, or equivalent.
* Experience working with control valves and actuators in an industrial setting is essential.
* OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) training is desirable but not required.
* Proficient in the use of calibration equipment and diagnostic tools.
* Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and safety.
* Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strong record-keeping and data management skills.
