About the Role
* Band 6/7 – 37 hours per week, 12 months Fixed Term/Secondment
* Flexible working arrangements and part‑time hours will be considered.
* Extended hours, weekend and public holiday rotas may be required.
Responsibilities
* Work within the Pharmacy Dispensary at Ninewells Hospital, providing clinical expertise, verifying prescriptions and carrying out accuracy checks.
* Lead and support Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Support Workers and Rotational Pharmacists to deliver a high‑quality service and meet Key Performance Indicators.
* Participate in the TURAS review process, job planning, and the annual Medicines Supply Chain programme.
* Support the Development, Implementation and ongoing review of the Dispensary component of the Experiential, Foundation and Post‑registration Pharmacist programmes.
* Possibly support 1–2 clinical independent prescribing sessions per week and the Pharmacist Independent Prescribing course if desired.
* Engage in research and quality‑improvement projects, including clinical trials, GCP, and efficiency reviews.
* Drive innovation in Medicines Optimisation and Efficient Medicines Supply Systems.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Experience in a hospital pharmacy dispensary with leadership responsibilities.
* Strong communication, organisational and team‑leadership skills.
* A “patient‑centred” approach, ability to adapt to change, and commitment to NHS Tayside values.
