Offer description

The IT Support Officer is responsible for representing the IT Support Service to all users of IM&T equipment and services in the Trust. The role provides frontline IT Support Services to all users with high standards of technical assistance and customer service.

Responsibilities include:

1. Delivering first and second line technical support for IT equipment and services.
2. Responding to and resolving IT incidents efficiently and professionally, with empathy for service users.
3. Diagnosing faults and providing fixes for hardware and software issues.
4. Installing, testing, and delivering IT hardware and software.
5. Updating IT support information systems, such as service desk and asset registers.
6. Assisting with staff moves and re-siting IT equipment.
7. Supporting updates of Windows PCs across the Trust.
8. Supporting senior staff in delivering IT support services.
9. Escalating incidents appropriately and supporting incident resolution.
10. Advising users on the safe use of IT equipment, in line with policies and procedures.

Qualifications and experience required:

* Practical experience supporting users in a medium to large organization.
* Good technical knowledge of IT hardware, such as PCs and printers.
* Understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems and applications.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and information resource utilization.
* Ability to diagnose and resolve non-routine IT faults using theoretical knowledge.

Desirable qualifications:

* MCSE
* Degree in a technical subject
