The Industrial Maintenance team supports Sustainability and Environment projects and new initiatives, driving sustainability transformation at Airbus Broughton to meet environmental and societal needs and foster innovation.
In this position you will support the Head of Industrial Maintenance in defining and managing dedicated projects that support the sustainability and environmental evolution of the Division in connection with stakeholder and societal expectations.
What you will be doing
This role offers the opportunity to work with experienced safety professionals across Airbus and to influence strategy to improve the safe use of a wide range of industrial equipment. You will work with local production teams (Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and Safety) to develop and deploy project plans across the Broughton plant. Activities may include:
* Developing and leading projects in line with sustainability and environmental regulations (e.g., Green Deal);
* Providing cost estimations, consolidations, analysis, operational planning, and monitoring for relevant projects;
* Managing all aspects of projects (contracting, documentation, action plans, reporting, risk and opportunity assessments);
* Implementing sustainability and environmental governance and target cascading with stakeholders (Sites, Functions, Plant Leaders);
* Ensuring proper execution of risk and opportunity assessments;
* Advocating for safety and sustainability, fostering connections across the Airbus Plant, and inspiring colleagues;
* Communicating sustainability and environmental achievements internally and on digital platforms;
* Working with the Industrial Maintenance EHS Manager on technical, behavioral and cultural improvements;
* Collaborating with Industrial Maintenance teams to implement transnational best practices in production environments;
* Engaging with safety professionals across Airbus to enhance safe use of industrial equipment;
* Collaborating with local production teams to develop and execute project plans improving safety at the Broughton plant.
Requirements
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. It is mandatory to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please include your graduation date in your application. Your application should include a CV and a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
* Studying towards a degree in Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Environment, or equivalent;
* Familiarity with Google Suite or Microsoft tools;
* Ability to think strategically and translate improvement practices into local project plans;
* Ability to build business cases to justify expenditure for improvement projects;
* Collaborates well within a team, including working with a transnational team;
* Good communication style to engage and influence people from different functions;
* Proficiency in the use of AI tools;
* Project Management skills are a plus.
Security clearance: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
