Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. Duties
* Assist clients with personal care routines such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
* Manage behaviour effectively and compassionately, especially in cases of dementia or Alzheimer's care
* Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance quality of life
* Assist with mobility and transfer tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary
* Drive clients to appointments or outings as required
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to supervisors
* Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when needed
Experience
* Prior experience in assisted living is preffered
* Knowledge of patient care techniques, dementia or Alzheimer's support strategies, and hospice care is advantageous
* Experience with caregiving for children or elderly individuals is beneficial
* Basic first aid certification is desirable
* Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform meal preparation tasks effectively
* Strong communication skills and the ability to manage behaviour with patience and empathy
* Valid driving licence for client transportation duties is preferred
