About the role We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team here at Calisen. Reporting into the Senior Financial Controller, this role plays a key part in delivering high quality financial accounting, controls and reporting across the business. You’ll be involved in month‑end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, statutory and tax reporting and will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation. What you’ll be doing Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and Group reporting packs, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and KPIs Providing clear, value‑added financial analysis to support performance and decision‑making Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring robust controls and timely resolution of issues Supporting the annual budget and re‑forecasting processes, including financial modelling, analysis and commentary Assisting with internal and external reporting to investors, shareholders and other key stakeholders, including technical accounting requirements Supporting VAT returns, tax packs and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations Playing an active role in year‑end statutory audit activity and responding to ad‑hoc audit and tax queries Working with Finance Business Partners to support operational finance needs and cashflow management Contributing to continuous improvement of finance systems, processes and controls About you Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Experience in a similar financial accounting role Strong knowledge of accounting standards and statutory reporting Good understanding of taxation, including VAT and corporation tax Experience producing budgets, forecasts and management accounts Confident working with senior stakeholders and presenting financial information Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability Experience with Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central is desirable Organised, proactive and able to manage deadlines in a fast‑moving environment Benefits Non‑contractual 10% annual bonus, based on company and personal performance 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service, plus 8 bank holidays and a day off for your birthday Company sick pay - up to 6 months, then SSP Enhanced maternity and paternity pay Life assurance at 4x your basic salary Pension scheme - Calisen will double your personal contribution up to a maximum of 7% of your gross salary 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme My Rewards platform - access to discounts from hundreds of leading retailers Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme Please note: All successful candidates must pass a criminal record check, provide us with 5 years’ work references, and prove their eligibility to work in the UK.
