Deputy Nursery Manager
Full time Hours: 37.5 per week - Monday to Friday 8am-5pm
Term time only
Salary: Scale 4, SCP 8-11
We are seeking a skilled, committed and nurturing Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership of our 2–3 year old nursery provision, based within our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wellington, Telford.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a school‑based, term time nursery, supporting high quality early years provision for our youngest children and working closely alongside our 3–4 year old nursery class to ensure strong continuity and smooth transitions.
About the role
* Support the day‑to‑day leadership and organisation of the 2–3 nursery
* Deliver high quality, developmentally appropriate early years practice
* Promote children's wellbeing, communication, emotional security and independence
* Support safeguarding arrangements and welfare requirements
* Deputise for the Nursery Manager when required
Qualifications
* Holds a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification
* Has experience working within the EYFS, ideally with 2‑3 year olds
* Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Is calm, caring and professional, with a child‑centred approach
* Works effectively as part of a team and demonstrates leadership potential
* Is committed to high standards, inclusion and continuous professional development
* Experience in a school‑based or term‑time nursery, and/or Deputy DSL training, would be advantageous but is not essential.
* Is willing to undertake Paediatric First Aid training if not already qualified
