The maternity service at Newham University Hospital is on a maternity transformation journey. We are the busiest maternity service in the Barts Health NHS Trust group of hospitals and are looking for a special individual to join our innovative maternity leadership team
We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our midwifery maternal medicine service at Newham University Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust, to support and provide, clinical excellence in this speciality ensuring effective management of women with complex needs. This will result in high standards in the delivery of midwifery care, communication between teams, appropriate referrals for escalation and will be responsive to individualised needs, thus increasing client satisfaction, in line with Ockenden, Better Births and the Long-Term Plan Reports. You will support the on-going analysis of current trends; benchmarking process flows and cultural norms for Nursing and Midwifery care across the sites.
Main duties of the job
You must have sufficient midwifery experience at band 6 level and have evidence of completed CPD.

Essential criteria
1. Registered Midwife with extensive band 6 experience.
2. Requires NMC registration on relevant part of register
3. Recent evidence of clinical or professional development.
4. Minimum of first degree, and post registration courses (CPD) relevant to clinical specialty.
5. Mentorship course or equivalent teaching experience.
Desirable criteria
6. Masters qualification or relevant masters level experience in relevant specialist area
Experience and Knowledge

7. Experience of working as a senior band 6 midwife role.
8. Experience with managing patients relevant to specialist area.
9. Experience in people management and improving the patient experience.
