About the role: Horizon Teachers are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups across KS3KS4. You'll be supporting pupils with social, emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Key responsibilities Provide general classroom support across KS3 and KS4, assisting with pupil engagement to enhance learning outcomes. Provide focused 1:1 and small group support to deliver targeted intervention. Support the class teacher in planning, preparation, and delivering engaging lessons. Support pupils with SEND and additional needs. Assist in creating a positive, inclusive, and safe environment. What do you need to succeed in this role? Has experience supporting children with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or related needs (in school, care, or youth settings). Brings calm, empathy, and excellent communication to challenging situations. Is confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies (Team Teach or equivalent desirable). Shows a genuine belief in every child's potential, no matter their background or history.
