Summary of Role:
Main Duties:
1. Working with the functional business partnering team and business stakeholders to produce consolidated rates, function, Integrated Business Planning (IBP), workforce planning and investment (R&D, Bids, Capex, Change, Seed, Marketing) reporting and analysis. Owning the consolidated view, driving performance versus annual plan/forecast and cost optimisation
2. Reporting and analysis will include: Leadership Team (LT) packs, Functional Operations packs, Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Review packs, Functional KPI/metric dashboards, and Functional Management Review Board (MRB) packs
3. Supporting the management of the absorption costing process, including setting of the AOP and monthly forecasting. Working with stakeholders from the functions and business to ensure that impacts are understood, e.g. what-if scenarios and Estimate at Completion (EAC) impact analysis
4. Supporting MOD, DoD and customer/contract specific rate deck (absorption costing) calculations, submissions & audits
5. Supporting the review and approval of capex, seed and change requests, asset list management, approval tracking, business case guidance and depreciation forecasting & control
6. Supporting functional / rates systems improvements
7. Supporting Indirect Cost Optimisation Projects

8. Qualified Accountant
9. Excellent presentational skills. Comfortable with data and detail but having the ability to extract high level messages. Experience of presenting to senior audiences
10. Ability to work on concurrent issues/problems with multiple stakeholders and sources of information, both internal and external, under time pressure. Being able to “think on your feet”, prioritise effectively and having a “can-do” attitude
11. Strong communicator and networker with a thirst for understanding the business model, providing meaningful and actionable insight, critical thinking and an ability to think differently about existing problems. Previous experience of dealing one-to-one with both senior and external stakeholders and building relationships
12. Being able to own issues, completer-finisher
13. Strong financial analytical skills, joining the dots, and attention to detail
14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff
15. Excellent systems skills
16. Working in a programme environment / knowledge of accounting for long term contracts
17. Negotiation experience and being an effective influencer
18. Creative and entrepreneurial, providing innovative solutions that drive value to the business
Desirable:
19. Experience of working in a matrix organisation
