Senior Care Officer / Team Leader
Location: Llanelli / Pontarddulais area (SA14 postcode) Salary: £28,000 - £31,500 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Care Officer / Team Leader to join a small, highly-rated children's home. You will play a crucial role in leading and supervising a team to provide excellent, child-centred care.

What You'll Do
As a Team Leader, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of shifts and the well-being of the children in our care. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Lead and Supervise: Motivate and guide a team of residential care officers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, consistent care.
* Child-Centred Care: Ensure the physical, emotional, and educational needs of each child are met, in line with their personal care plans.
* Safeguarding: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding by promptly identifying and responding to any risks of harm or abuse.
* Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant Welsh legislation and procedures, ensuring the home operates in line with all regulations.
* Collaboration: Work closely with local authorities, social workers, and other professionals to provide coordinated care.
What We're Looking For
* A minimum of 1 year of experience in a residential childcare setting.
* A QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (or a commitment to completing it within a required timescale).
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* A deep commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Working with Us
* Shift Pattern: You will work 14 shifts per month (7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.), including one weekend on and one weekend off. The role includes four sleep-ins and the option to be a paid on-call.
* Annual Leave: 24 days plus bank holidays (four additional days above the statutory requirement).
* Overtime: Paid at time and a third.
