Overview
Gloucester Guildhall is looking for a 37 hour week Food & Drink Shift Leader to join the team. Located in a Grade II listed building in Gloucester city centre, Gloucester Guildhall presents a variety of events, from live music and comedy to immersive performances and workshops. The venue has six spaces available to hire for meetings and conferences and a cinema, with a commercial kitchen and two bar openings supporting a food and drink service for events and venue operations.
About The Role
Gloucester Guildhall is a venue regularly open seven days a week subject to the cultural programme. The venue may be open from 8:30am until late (potentially 10pm, midnight or into the early hours). You will work with a team of casual and agency staff, leading and directing operations to ensure the safe sale of alcohol. You will work a mixture of shifts, including days and evenings, performing tasks such as preparing buffets for corporate hirers, serving drinks and snacks to cinema attendees, or serving up to 400+ attendees at live events.
Responsibilities
* Lead and direct the food and drink service on shifts, ensuring high standards of customer service and efficiency.
* Work alongside a team of casual and agency staff; coordinate operations to support events and venue activities.
* Manage duties related to the sale of alcohol in a safe and compliant manner.
* Perform a variety of service tasks including preparing buffets, serving drinks and snacks, and catering for large audiences.
* Adapt to a flexible schedule, including days and evenings, aligned to the programme of events.
About You
* Dynamic and motivated Food & Drink Shift Leader with the ability to oversee daily operations frontline.
* Confident, proactive, and able to take initiative when leading a shift.
* Attention to detail and ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and unexpected challenges.
* Energetic and able to motivate colleagues.
* Flexible with annualised hours, with varying weekly hours to meet event needs.
