A respected and expanding law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join its highly regarded public law children team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated solicitor to work on complex, meaningful cases while benefiting from hybrid working and strong professional support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing your own caseload of public law children matters including care and supervision proceedings
2. Representing parents, guardians, and children
3. Attending court hearings and advocating where appropriate
4. Working closely with social workers, experts and external agencies
5. Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements and quality standards
6. Supervising junior team members where required (depending on experience)
Requirements:
7. A qualified solicitor with at least 3 years’ PQE in childcare/public law proceedings
8. Strong knowledge of care and related children’s legislation
9. LAA Supervisor status is preferable but not essential.
10. Strong advocacy skills
11. Ideally, Children Panel Accreditation (or working towards it)
12. Excellent client care and communication skills
13. Able to work independently and as part of a supportive, multi-office team
