West Coventry Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our pastoral team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting students and their families to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a key role in strengthening relationships between the academy, students, and their families. You will work closely with pastoral staff, safeguarding leads, and external agencies to provide early intervention and targeted support for students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. If the candidate holds a full driving licence this would be desirable but not essential. Key Responsibilities Provide direct support to students and families, including home visits where appropriate Act as a key point of contact for parents/carers, offering guidance and signposting to relevant services Work collaboratively with safeguarding and pastoral teams to support vulnerable students Help improve attendance, behaviour, and overall student wellbeing Liaise with external agencies to coordinate multi-agency support Maintain accurate records and contribute to support plans and reviews What you'll need to succeed Have experience working with children, young people, or families in a support role Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills Is empathetic, resilient, and able to build trusting relationships Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices Work both independently and as part of a team Committed to making a positive difference to students’ lives What you'll get in return The opportunity to lead within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
