Head of Reporting
Location: London (Hybrid – 2–3 Days in Office)
Stanton House is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a rapidly scaling, PE-backed services business (£80m revenue) to appoint an interim Head of Reporting on a 6-month contract.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a high-performing team and play a critical role in delivering fast, accurate, and insightful monthly reporting within five working days. You will also drive automation and standardisation across reporting processes and multiple business units.
This is a hands-on leadership role that blends day-to-day operational oversight with strategic transformation. You’ll work closely with commercial and operational finance teams, embed best practices, and collaborate with the transformation function to deliver scalable, tech-enabled improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the production of timely, accurate, and insightful monthly management accounts
* Overhaul and standardise the group’s month-end reporting cycle, targeting a sub-five-day close
* Drive automation and scalable solutions across reporting processes in all business units
* Manage, coach, and develop the management accounting team, ensuring capability, capacity, and effective succession planning
* Partner with commercial and operational finance teams to provide value-added analysis and challenge to support performance
* Continuously identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
Candidate Profile
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* 10+ years’ experience in senior finance leadership roles, with a strong focus on management reporting
* Proven success in accelerating group-level month-end close processes
* Demonstrable experience in process improvement, standardisation, and automation
* Previous experience in a PE-backed business of similar scale is essential
* Inspirational and hands-on team leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strong track record of leading change and embedding new ways of working across teams
