Further Education Cover Supervisor
Hanson Recruitment is working with a large number of schools across the South-West which require teachers, teaching assistants, and cover supervisors. Were currently partnering with a Bristol media college which is looking for charismatic, proactive, and engaging cover supervisors to work in this further education setting on a full-time basis.
This role involves supervising classes during teacher absences, and ensuring students remain engaged in learning while maintaining a calm, structured, and supportive environment.
Pay Rate: £100 - £130 per day (subject to experience and qualifications). This role is during school hours.
Responsibilities include:
* To plan and deliver learning activities to students, differentiating, modifying and using specialist activities and approaches according to their responses/needs
* Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
* Deliver pre-set work, ensuring students stay on task and complete assigned activities.
* Provide targeted support for students with SEN, adapting approaches as needed.
* To support students with SEN to fulfil their academic potential
* To be involved in keeping records and evaluating identified students progress
* To assist with the development and implementation of support plans
* To supervise practical tasks
* To carry out structured classroom assessment/observation and feedback outcomes
Qualifications & attributes:
* Have previous experience working in a further education environment.
* Hold a degree
* Be confident managing classroom behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies.
* Show patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach.
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be able to follow lesson plans and work independently.
* Relevant qualifications such as Team Teach, Positive Behaviour Support, or SEND training are desirable.
