Newly Qualified Nurse (Paediatrics) - 2026 Graduates

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate, self‑motivated and want to develop your skills in Acute Paediatrics or Neonates? If so, this is the post for you! We are looking for a Newly Qualified Nurses to join our Jenny Lind Children's Hospital Team.

Buxton ward, The Children's Assessment Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are looking for Newly Qualified Paediatric Nurses due to qualify Summer 2026 to come and join our dedicated and vibrant team.

Main duties of the job

Our Jenny Lind Children's Hospital incorporates Children's Inpatient, Ambulatory, Emergency, Neonatal and Outpatient care. We treat children and young people across a broad range of specialties including Paediatric Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, plastics and much more. We also have a dedicated Surgical and medical HDU. Our collaborative team care to children living in Norfolk and for those accessing specialist treatments across the Eastern Region.

The successful candidate will be offered a position on either Buxton Ward, The Children's Assessment Unit or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Job responsibilities

Our Practice Development and Education team will be there to support you during your preceptorship period and beyond. We are proud to offer and support all our Newly Qualified Nurses through a comprehensive Preceptorship scheme for a minimum of 12 months.

When you start with us, you will be assigned an appropriately trained preceptor/mentor, who will support and work with you throughout your preceptorship. We have a specialised two week supernumerary induction programme which will take place in September 2026 (to be confirmed). This gives you an opportunity to meet the Clinical Educators, get to know the hospital, the NNUH team, attend workshops to facilitate your clinical skills and gives you time in your department. Further to this, there are opportunities to complete a transitional learning needs analysis, access to four bespoke sessions for your continuing professional development (CPD) as part of the Preceptorship Academy and you will have access to the clinical Skills programme with bespoke IV drug administration day for newly qualified nurses.

Qualifications

* Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and maintenance of a Personal, Professional Profile


Experience

* Knowledge / experience of relevant speciality
