We have an exciting role on offer within our Neighbourhoods Service as a Community Development Officer. To be successful in this role you need to have experience of supporting VCS organisations become constituted, actively seek out and apply for funding. You must also have excellent communication skills and have the experience of working with key stakeholders and vulnerable adults and children. The post holder will need: To hold a full clean driving license and proof of business insurance. Have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently using own initiative. Have exceptional communication skills. Be passionate about making a different to the lives of Middlesbrough residents and have the personal skills to carry this out. You will have a responsibility for delivering key outcomes relating to community development, cohesion and resilience. Work alongside statutory, voluntary and community partners, to encourage, and support communities to become more resilient. Identify, develop and deliver community initiatives and projects and empower residents to become more independent and build community capacity. You will work with local communities at a neighbourhood level, to enable them to identify needs, to develop and support the implementation of sustainable programmes, which supports the aims of the project and build community capacity. Engage and consult with residents and other stakeholders to develop plans, structures and systems that will influence with delivery of the project. Build capacity and social capital by helping individuals and organisations develop the confidence and skills necessary to identify, articulate and prioritise their needs and where appropriate, identify training to support these aims. Enable and support building resilience within communities through development of self-help groups and volunteering in the locality. Please note this post is fixed term until 06.01.2028.
