Accounts Payable Manager
up to £60k
London (NW1) | with hybrid working
Our client, a well-established London law firm with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality legal services, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join its finance team. This is a key role responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function and ensuring efficient, compliant and accurate financial operations within a regulated legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, approvals and payment runs
* Manage supplier accounts, reconciliations and creditor forecasting
* Review daily and monthly online banking payment runs
* Handle supplier queries and maintain the AP inbox
* Liaise closely with billing and cashiering teams
* Supervise and support Accounts Payable Clerks
* Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and the SRA Accounts Rules
* Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls
* Produce accurate financial reports for internal stakeholders
Requirements:
* Proven accounts payable experience within a law firm (essential)
* Strong working knowledge of VAT and SRA Accounts Rules
* Experience managing or supervising junior team members
* Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP)
* Highly organised, analytical and detail-oriented
* Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
