Collaborating with clients from the Public and Private sector, we deliver Civil Engineering projects from £1m – £10m and manage reactive maintenance contracts across the Northwest of England.
Based out of our Head Office in Bootle, Liverpool, our team of over 100 employees and 200 subcontractors deliver expert services to our existing clients whilst welcoming new clients.

The Role
As a talented undergraduate, you will welcome the opportunity to apply your talents to projects that will provide you with the challenges you are looking for. You will receive hands on training and the opportunity to widen your experience within a fast passed environment. Working within our Commercial department and buddying up with our apprentice team, you will assist with the financial, contractual, and commercial management of infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, groundworks, earthworks). Under the guidance of senior professionals, you will ensure projects remain within budget and completed on schedule, acting as a liaison between site teams, subcontractors, and clients. This role is a mix of office-based duties, site visits, KPI monitoring and reporting and hands on experience.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the on-site management of projects, ensuring the technical, administrative, and commercial aspects are executed efficiently to a high standard.
* Lead and manage the performance of ground improvement projects, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring successful project delivery. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure KPI’s are achieved and works procedures are aligned with project requirements.
* Take responsibility for contract administration, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to contractual obligations.
* Ensure all site activities are conducted safely, meeting regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications
* Minimum 1 or 2 years undergraduate university completed in an accredited Beng/MEng programme.
* Demonstrate clear drive & ambition.
* Demonstrate a strong interest in the commercial aspects of engineering.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
* Able to work both flexibly as part of a team and independently.
* Strong computer skills – Excel/Word/Power Point
* Hold a full manual driving licence.
* CSCS Card preferred (but Dowhigh will arrange if not currently held)

* Placement term, 10 – 12 months
* Full Time, hours to be agreed.
* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
