Hays Education is working in partnership with a weing and supportive primary school in the Thornton‑Cleveleys area, and we are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behavioural Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a pupil with additional behavioural and emotional needs.
Your new role
In this rewarding long‑term role, you will work closely with a primary-aged child who requires consistent guidance, emotional support, and structured behaviour strategies to help them engage positively with learning.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the pupil with emotional regulation and behaviour management
2. Implementing personalised strategies and targeted interventions
3. Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo
4. Encouraging positive learning behaviours and resilience
5. Building a stable, trusting relationship to promote engagement and progress
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience supporting pupils with behavioural, SEMH, or additional needs
7. A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
8. Confidence in de‑escalation and behaviour management
9. Strongmunication skills and a nurturing mindset
10. A genuinemitment to helping children thrive
11. An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one through Hays)
