Mainpurposeoftherole:
Undertakeandassistininvestigationstakingonkeyroleswithineachinvestigationsuchas:researching;gatheringandobtainingevidence;gatheringandrecordingintelligence;liaisingwithChildrenSocialCare;undertakingjointinvestigativeactionswithstatutorypartners;andattendingchildprotectioncaseconferencesbyavarietyofmeans.
TheISOwillconductingarangeofinvestigativeandsafeguardingduties,inordertosecurebestevidenceandincreasetheefficiencyandeffectivenessofinvestigationsundertakenbytheDepartment.
Mainresponsibilities:
1. Interviewwitnessesandvictimsofcrime,assistinginregardtosuspectinterviews,takinghighquality,accuratestatementsforinclusionintocasefilesandundertakingassessmentoftheveracityofstatementsandthepotentialreliabilityofwitnessesinCourtinordertoensureevidenceiscorrectlycapturedandrecordedtosupportinvestigations.
2. CoordinateandmanagetheseizureandviewingofCCTV,viewingmaterial,analysinginformation,andrecordingelementsincomprehensivereportsofevidentialandintelligencevalue;coordinatehousetohouseenquiriesinordertosupportinvestigationsandprovideevidenceinpersonatcourtasrequired.
3. Undertakearangeofinvestigativeresearchthroughrelevantsystemsandprocedures,maintainingaccuraterecords,analysinginformation,andproducingarangeofreports,inordertosupporttheinvestigationofoffencesbythedepartment.
