We're looking for Female Support Workers to join our friendly Newhaven team, providing 24/7 support to a woman living with epilepsy and using a wheelchair. Accompanying her on daily activities and outings, you'll be part of a consistent and caring team, making a real difference every day.
Specific Duties
1. Practice the TAG Key Worker system, including organizing support plans and case reviews, ensuring effective handovers, and maintaining records.
2. Promote the physical and emotional wellbeing of the people we support, supporting self-care and conducting risk assessments.
3. Develop meaningful and trusting relationships, helping individuals gain insight into their behavior and reactions.
4. Encourage independence in daily activities and support with household tasks when necessary.
5. Promote hobbies, interests, and community participation, including organizing trips and activities for young people and supporting participation in sports.
6. Assist with personal care as required.
7. Work to maximize effective communication and self-advocacy.
8. Advocate on behalf of the individuals, liaising with external organizations regarding benefits, education, and employment.
9. Collaborate with relatives and carers, supporting support plans and addressing concerns.
10. Learn about local services and amenities available to support individuals.
11. Work with individuals and groups as needed.
12. Participate flexibly in shift work, including evenings, weekends, sleepovers, and waking nights.
13. Cover short-term absences of colleagues when needed.

This is a regulated role requiring PVG membership. Candidates with lived outside the UK for over 12 months in the last 10 years will need to provide a Criminal Convictions Certificate from the relevant country.
