Our client is a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor operating across the South Coast. They specialise in delivering groundworks and infrastructure packages for residential developments, commercial schemes, and large-scale construction projects.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for overseeing multiple groundwork and infrastructure projects from pre-construction through to final delivery. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
You will act as a key link between site teams, commercial departments, and clients, driving performance and ensuring smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously across the Portsmouth region
* Oversee Site Managers and operational teams
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations
* Monitor project programmes, costs, and resource allocation
* Work closely with commercial teams on budgets, valuations, and cost control
* Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
* Identify risks and implement solutions to keep projects on track
* Drive quality, efficiency, and productivity across all sites
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within groundworks or civil engineering
* Strong knowledge of infrastructure and groundwork packages
* Experience managing multiple live projects
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Strong commercial awareness and programme management ability
* Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering desirable)
* Full UK driving licence
