Our client has an opportunity for a Design Quality Engineer to join them on a contract basis in Broughton, Flintshire for 12 months. You will be working within the Quality Engineering Airframe Wing organisation, primarily in the Programme perimeter for Quality Performance activities covering all programmes.

Hourly Rate: £34.76 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35
What you'll be doing:
The Quality Engineering Wing team is accountable for the deployment of the Quality Strategy within the Engineering Wing organisations. This strategy is deployed via the implementation of 'Quality Improvement Project/Plans' in order to support the achievement of the Engineering Wing quality targets. Also the successful applicant will be responsible for Quality Performance activities, such as:
Drive and deliver improvement projects in order to support the achievement of the Engineering Wing quality targets (Primary activity of role)
Facilitate and support root cause analysis & practical problem solving activities
Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans in order to support the improvement of engineering quality performance and its associated deliverables
Identify risks/issues relating to the quality of the engineering deliverable and facilitate, support and drive standardised mitigation plans in order to prevent/mitigate risk linked to the product and its related processes
Support the deployment of Quality standards and apply them within the Engineering organisation
Capture lessons learned in order to improve organisation efficiency and product maturity
Requirements:
Essential:
Relevant Quality and/or Engineering Experience
Project Management knowledge
Understanding of Failure modes effects analysis
Understanding of root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 9S, 8D etc.)
Be able to demonstrate appropriate people skills and associated behaviours when interacting with all levels of the management structure
The ability to learn quickly, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the workload
Have exceptional communication and English skills, both verbal and written
Have excellent IT skills as appropriate to the role (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office)Desirable:
Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management and Product Data Management Systems
Understanding of Engineering Drawing and Modification management
Experience in a Design or Manufacturing Engineering Environment would be beneficial although not essential
Ability to communicate in German both verbally and in written form are highly beneficial although not essential
Programming experience (Javascript, Google apps script, Python…) are highly beneficial although not essential
