Role Overview

The Pensions Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing complex pensions-related projects, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with the Pension Trustee’s strategic objectives. The Pensions Project Manager will manage end-to-end delivery of pensions initiatives, working closely with internal stakeholders, external providers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth execution of projects. This role requires someone who thrives in dynamic environments, builds positive relationships, and ensures successful project delivery.

Planned Implementation of GMP Equalisation for the Pension Trust’s Sections


* The project involves complex recalculations of affected member benefits, data cleansing, and coordination with actuaries, administrators, and legal advisors to implement changes accurately.


Various Member Communication Improvements, Including the Trustee Website


* Key initiatives to improve member satisfaction and reduce queries include Trustee Website Redesign, enhancing Financial guidance support and Targeted Communication Campaigns.


Vendor Reviews


* Regular assessments of third-party service providers to ensure they continue to deliver high-quality services and align with the Trustee’s strategic objectives. Key areas of focus include Performance Evaluation, Cost Benchmarking, Contract Renegotiation and Vendor Transitions.





Key Responsibilities


* Project Management: Lead and manage pensions-related projects, including system transitions, regulatory updates, and trustee meetings, ensuring timely delivery, budget management, and quality outcomes.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with HR, Finance, external consultants, and third-party providers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance pensions administration and employee experience, leveraging data insights and technology.
* Compliance & Governance: Manage work required to ensure that all pension projects comply with relevant UK legislation, GSK policies, and best practice standards.
* Risk Management: Monitor project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as needed to ensure project continuity.
* Change Leadership: Develop and implement communication plans to support project rollouts, ensuring employees and stakeholders are informed and engaged.
* Measurement & Reporting: Track and report progress, KPIs, and outcomes of pensions initiatives to senior leadership and stakeholders.





Minimum Requirements


* Relevant qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent.
* Demonstrated project management experience, ideally within pensions or HR-related functions.
* Solid understanding of UK pensions legislation, schemes, and regulatory frameworks.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
* Confidence in decision-making and assertiveness, paired with a collaborative approach to navigating challenges and achieving alignment.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
* Flexibility and resilience under pressure, with a proven ability to reprioritise effectively without losing focus.
* Analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions.
* A proactive mindset with experience driving process improvements and delivering results.
