Offer description

Wynnstay Group is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable People Data & Payroll Analyst to support the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of payroll, while acting as the custodian of People data, reporting, and insights. This role sits at the heart of the Group’s People & Culture operations during an exciting period of growth and transformation.

As part of a supportive People and Culture team, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll and People data are maintained to a high standard, reports are produced accurately and on time, and stakeholders have access to meaningful insights to support decision-making. The role combines hands-on payroll processing with data analysis and systems-driven reporting, contributing to continuous improvement and future People and payroll system integration.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and respected organisation within the agricultural sector, offering variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact within a collaborative People & Culture function.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate, timely monthly payroll processing, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal controls.
• Collate, validate, and reconcile payroll inputs including starters, leavers, changes, overtime, benefits, and time & attendance data.
• Ensure correct submissions and payments to colleagues, HMRC, pension providers, and third parties, including year-end returns.
• Own People and payroll data, maintaining accuracy and consistency across systems.
• Produce regular People and payroll reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, absence, costs) and ad-hoc analysis.
• Provide clear data and insights to People & Culture, Finance, and stakeholders to support decision-making.
• Use HR and payroll systems to extract and present data for operational and senior reporting.
• Identify and support process improvements, reducing manual effort through systems, Excel, and automation.

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

• Proven experience in payroll processing for a minimum of 2 years.
• Strong experience working with People and payroll data, reporting, and analysis.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in payroll and financial data.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data sets, reports, and reconciliations.
• Good understanding of payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and GDPR.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to fixed deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable:

• Experience working with integrated HR and payroll systems.
• Experience supporting HR or payroll system implementation or process improvement projects.
• Knowledge of People metrics and workforce reporting in a multi-site or operational environment.

Benefits:

BUPA Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
4% employer pension contribution
Life Assurance after probation period
25 days’ annual leave plus UK bank holidays
Wynnstay Colleague Discount programme
Company Profit Related Performance Bonus
Opportunity to join a supportive, values-led organisation with a turnover of over £583 million and over 900 colleagues nationwide
