The Role
As Supply Chain Manager, you’ll take full ownership of planning, coordinating, and optimising all supply chain activities that keep our factory and commercial operations running smoothly. You will oversee materials procurement, production planning, inventory control, goods-in/goods-out operations, and warehouse management. This is a hands-on, fast-moving role that plays a critical part in our continued growth as a purpose-led food brand.
Key Responsibilities
Materials & Procurement
• Source, order, and manage all raw materials, packaging, and consumables
• Help drive our cost saving agenda through various procurement initiatives and tenders
• Build strong supplier relationships, as well as monitoring and challenging supplier performance where it falls short
Production Planning
• Translate sales forecasts into short & longer term production plans, ensuring we maintain strong supply levels, as well as efficient production plans for the factory
• Own the factory production planning process, ensuring we balance strong stock & supply levels, versus efficient production plans
• Adjust plans dynamically in response to changing demand or operational constraints
Inventory Management
• Own raw material & finished goods stock accuracy, as well as stock control procedures
• Conduct monthly and ad-hoc stock counts, reconciling and resolving discrepancies where needed
• Monitor slow-moving or excess stock, working cross-functionally and at pace to address any risks
Warehouse, Goods-In & Goods-Out
• Oversee all warehouse operations
• Manage goods-in including quality checks, as well as our goods-out process
• Work closely with our logistics partners (inbound and outbound) to ensure the supply chain runs smoothly
Systems & Reporting
• Use ERP/MRP systems to manage planning and reporting
• Maintain accurate supply chain data
• Support finance with stock valuation and month-end reporting
Continuous Improvement
• Identify and deliver supply chain improvements, particularly around processes, routines and controls
• Enhance efficiency and service levels across the business via continually improving our planning processes & rigour
• Own projects like NPD launches, or packaging improvement projects from start to finish
What We’re Looking For
• Experience in Food Manufacturing supply chain, operations and planning management
• Strong understanding of procurement, production planning, inventory control, warehousing, and logistics
• Confident with ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills
• A proactive, hands-on self-starter able to manage multiple priorities, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail throughout
• Excellent communicator and relationship builder
