School Inclusion Centre Deputy Manager – Mansfield
Salary: £27,000‑£30,000 (Actual) or £30,128‑£33,476 FTE. Permanent, term‑time only (41 weeks). Hours: 37.5 per week, 8:00‑16:00.
Role Overview
The Inclusion Centre Deputy Manager leads the day‑to‑day operation of the Inclusion Centre, coordinating routines, supporting staff, and managing behaviour interventions to re‑engage pupils at risk of exclusion. The role focuses on coordination, behaviour support, and pupil engagement while avoiding lesson planning, marking, and curriculum preparation.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Inclusion Centre Manager in coordinating the daily operation, ensuring smooth timetables, transitions, and staffing.
* Provide operational leadership by overseeing routines, allocating duties, and ensuring high‑quality staff practice.
* Lead behaviour support initiatives, including reset activities, de‑escalation, and escalation processes.
* Drive improvements in pupil attendance, engagement, behaviour, and overall outcomes, aiming to reduce permanent and fixed‑term exclusions.
* Maintain a positive, structured learning environment and support staff and teachers with behaviour management when required.
* Deliver targeted 1:1 and group mentoring sessions using the TFTF Curriculum.
* Build strong relationships with parents, carers, school leaders, and external professionals to ensure a joined‑up approach.
* Support pupil transitions back into mainstream education or into Post‑16 pathways.
* Produce weekly updates and concise reports for schools, documenting behaviour, suspensions, and exclusion cases.
* Use Impact Analytics to inform planning, intervention strategies, and decision‑making.
* Contribute to a positive, solution‑focused team culture and support the Centre Manager with ongoing operational improvements.

Requirements
* Experience in behaviour support, youth engagement, pastoral care, or classroom settings.
* A positive, energetic, and resilient approach in challenging environments.
* Confidence coordinating routines and supporting a team.
* Strong communication, administrative, and organisational skills.
* Ability to build quick, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff.
* Fluency in managing challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
Bonus Qualifications
* Experience leading within youth, education, or behaviour settings.
* Safeguarding knowledge or qualifications.
* Teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience.
* Experience working with external agencies.
