Customs/Shipping Administrator – Ballymena
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
Weekly Rotational Shifts:
Monday to Friday
• 07:00 – 16:00
• 09:00 – 18:00
Our client, a well-established transport company based in Ballymena, is seeking an experienced Customs/Shipping Administrator to join their busy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in transport, shipping, and customs compliance who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and respond to customer enquiries via email.
2. Obtain shipping and trailer details for all jobs and provide to relevant clearance agents and/or customers.
3. Add new jobs and update details/documents on the TMS (Transport Management System).
4. Prepare and submit import/export declarations for goods movements between Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland using relevant customs software and systems.
5. Ensure all shipments are supported by accurate and complete documentation.
6. Keep customers updated on changes to shipping and update declarations, goods movement references, and pre-boarding notifications where necessary.
7. Complete supplementary declarations for authorised customers via TSS.
8. Liaise with customs brokers, freight agents, port authorities, and government bodies to resolve queries and ensure smooth movement of goods.
Essential Criteria:
9. Previous experience working within a transport or shipping company.
10. Proven experience with customs compliance and relevant systems.
11. Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
12. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
