The Role
The school is seeking a highly organised and strategic School Business Manager to oversee operational leadership across finance, administration, HR and site management. This is a key leadership role within the school and will involve working closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team to ensure the smooth running of the school.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the school operates efficiently, resources are managed effectively and systems support the delivery of high-quality education.
Responsibilities
• Lead financial management including budgeting, forecasting and monitoring expenditure
• Oversee administrative functions across the school ensuring efficiency and compliance
• Manage HR processes including recruitment support, contracts and staff records
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety and statutory requirements
• Work with the Headteacher and Governors on financial planning and strategy
• Manage contracts, suppliers and procurement to ensure value for money
• Oversee site management and facilities to ensure a safe learning environment
• Lead operational improvements and contribute to long-term strategic planning
• Manage support staff teams including administrative staff and technicians
• Support the school with inspections, audits and reporting requirements
Requirements
• Previous experience in school business management or similar leadership role
• Strong financial management and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Understanding of safeguarding, compliance and school operations
• Ability to manage complex workloads and work strategically
