Community Mental Health Support Worker for Older Adults, Manchester
We are a busy Community Mental Health Team working with Older Adults in North Manchester. Our client group (over 65 years) includes individuals with either functional or organic diagnoses. We are seeking a part-time Support Worker to join our friendly team. The post involves hours per week.
The role is varied, interesting, and a valuable part of our service.
Main duties of the job
* Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Provide support, advice, and practical assistance to an allocated group of service users under the supervision of a qualified staff member. This includes supporting the delivery of care plans as agreed with the service user and/or their carers.
* Report any concerns or safeguarding issues to the qualified staff member.
* Offer practical support, including wellbeing checks, which may involve traveling across North Manchester and visiting people in their homes.
* Participate in Support Worker Duty Rota.
* Attend daily zoning meetings.
* While no professional registration is required, experience within mental health is desirable but not essential if the candidate demonstrates awareness of issues affecting older adults with mental health needs.
