The Enterprise Digitisation & Change capability supports the delivery of Squarcle consultancy tasks through managing transformation and ensuring robust programme management. The team is made up of subject matter experts, including P3M and Business Analyst specialists, that work within client‑facing tasks to deliver against a specified mandate. Working together but often independently, each consultant will be expected to work, onsite and remotely, with the client on complex engagements.

JOB OVERVIEW / INTRODUCTION
Management consulting is problem‑solving. Organisations today face many problems which affect their ability to perform. With the ever‑changing landscape and the emergence of innovative technologies, organisations need to evolve faster than ever. They need help to identify, design and implement the changes vital to their economic health. Our senior consultants supply their expertise to help our clients attain their performance ambition through the proposed changes.
Reporting to a manager and working directly with the client, the Senior Consultant Business Analyst is responsible for providing independent expert advice to help identify and solve complex business challenges, increase value, and maximise operational efficiency and profitability. Drawing on strong supply chain experience, using established methodologies and working closely with the client's senior leadership and support teams, the consultant will; support the creation of strategic roadmaps, drive process optimisation, and develop innovative, practical solutions that meet client needs across both business and supply chain functions.
Squarcle consultants work across both project delivery and business development
* Delivery: Squarcle management consultants work to supply solutions to the client's changing business needs. The scope of engagements is highly variable and can include core strategy development, large scale implementation, process optimisation, change management, and innovative technology introduction.
* Business development: Squarcle places an emphasis on leading sector thinking in the development of latest ideas. This can include producing white papers and internal research on relevant changes occurring in the sector and the impact of the general economy.
Senior consultants will have the opportunity to work across four broad subject areas
* Strategy: Strategy consultants provide clients with guidance in various spheres of business, including corporate strategy, business transformation, and digital and innovation capabilities.
* Operations: Operations consultants provide clients with guidance about business process optimisations to improve operational business capabilities and support ongoing client delivery.
* Information Technology: Information technology consultants supply and implement technological solutions for the client.
* Human Capital: Human capital consultants provide clients with solutions with change management and aid with any organisational changes that may affect the employees.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Squarcle Management Responsibilities
* Encourage effective working in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management
* Build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients, acting as a trusted advisor and securing buy‑in for the case for change and the delivery approach, particularly within supply chain and operational transformation programmes.
* Understand client business objectives, challenges, and industry trends, including supply chain dynamics, logistics constraints, procurement practices, and end‑to‑end operational flows.
* Ensure high client satisfaction through effective communication and timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables, with consideration for supply chain impacts and dependencies.
Engagement Management and Execution
* As a Senior Consultant Business Analyst, your role will be to contribute to engagement success by bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, including those relating to supply chain operations and performance optimisation.
* Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyse industry, market, and supply chain data to support business decisions. This includes identifying trends, patterns, and operational insights that can drive that can drive strategic initiatives.
* Requirement Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders across operations, logistics, procurement, and commercial teams to collect and document business requirements, translating them into actionable plans.
* Process Documentation: Assist in documenting business processes and workflows, including supply chain activities such as forecasting, inventory management, fulfilment, and distribution, to identify improvement opportunities.
* Support Senior Analysts: Provide support to senior business analysts and project managers across the project lifecycle, including supply chain‑focused initiatives and operational improvement programmes.
* Communication and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, supply chain teams, and technical delivery teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment of requirements.
* Solution Implementation: Assist in the implementation of business and supply chain solutions such as; planning tools, inventory optimisation initiatives, logistics improvements, or operational reporting, ensuring solutions meet business needs.
* Reporting: Create and maintain reports that track project progress, performance metrics, and other key indicators. These reports help in making informed business decisions.
1. Support the Engagement Manager across the consulting engagement lifecycle (planning, budgeting, mobilisation, deliverable design, content development, risk management/escalation) to ensure successful and on‑time engagement or project delivery, including engagements focused on supply chain transformation.
2. Draw on experience to contribute to project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with the client and consulting team, including the definition of supply chain or operational improvement initiatives.
3. Develop artefacts that support the presentation of solutions and plans using standard Microsoft Office applications, including analysis and visuals related to supply chain performance and processes.
4. Deliver tasks to the quality standards and processes of the client and Squarcle, ensuring that work is consistent and in accordance with the Squarcle quality assurance process.
Business Development
* Identify and pursue follow‑on work and new business opportunities, including potential engagements in supply chain optimisation, operational improvement, and logistics transformation.
* Support the sales and bid processes assigned by the Executive Director of Growth and Head of Consulting, contributing relevant supply chain insights where applicable.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape, including developments in supply chain digitalisation, automation, and resilience.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
* Provide guidance for more junior consultants, including mentoring those involved in supply chain or operations‑related analysis, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
* Mentor and develop consultants, assisting in their professional growth, including understanding supply chain fundamentals where relevant.
* Foster knowledge sharing and best practices within the consulting team, particularly in areas related to operations and supply chain management.
Thought Leadership and Industry Expertise
* Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the consulting domain, including supply chain innovation, advanced analytics, and operational excellence.
* Participate in professional development activities, such as attending seminars or pursuing relevant certifications (e.g., supply chain, logistics, or operations management).
SECONDARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Production of internal reporting
* Develop and refine Squarcle methods
* Support to wider team activities, such as, knowledge sessions and recruitment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
* Bachelor's degree (2:1) or higher in a related subject (e.g. Business Analytics, Business Management, Business Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Logistics) or equivalent experience in a related role.
* Experience of working as a Business Analyst
* Well‑developed core consulting skills e.g. research, analysis, presentation, and attention to detail
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and client / customer service
* Aptitude to grasp new concepts and produce effective outputs/results
* Exceptional problem‑solving skills and a growth mindset - an analytical, innovative, and creative approach
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* A strong work ethic with an ability to be self‑directed and be an independent contributor to the tea
* Ability to structure and manage intensive workloads
* Ability to lead teams
* Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite; specifically, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* A worthy team player dedicated to contributing toward the outcome desired by the team and the business

DESIRABLE
* Business Analyst Qualification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT: Foundation or Practitioner level
* Experience of the Defence sector
* Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Visio
* High degree of emotional intelligence to effectively deal with increasingly diverse clients and teams
* Confidence and maturity to work with senior executives
