We're working with a growing, design-led consumer brand within the beauty and personal care space, who are looking for an experienced Technical & Compliance Manager to take ownership of compliance across their beauty ranges.
This is a pivotal role working closely with Sales, NPD and a global supplier base, ensuring products meet all UK and EU regulatory requirements and are fully compliant from concept through to shipment. It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, detail-driven, and proactive in a fast-paced product environment.
Key Responsibilities in this role:
Own and manage the compliance function across the business
Review all artwork to ensure compliant safety text for all relevant territories
Maintain and manage the compliance critical path across multiple projects
Ensure all testing, certification and technical files are complete prior to shipment
Provide guidance and advice on UK and EU cosmetic regulations
Review and approve technical documentation from factories
Maintain accurate, well-organised technical and compliance records
Upload documentation to relevant regulatory and customer portals (including UK & EU cosmetic notification systems)
Work proactively with retail partners and licensors, supplying technical documentation as required
Ensure ongoing compliance for reorders, reflecting regulatory updates
Monitor factory compliance with REACH and chemical import regulations
Stay up to date with regulatory changes and implement plans to meet new deadlines
Resolve compliance issues efficiently and communicate risks clearly to key stakeholders
Manage factory compliance records, ethical audits, and corrective action plans
Experience & Skills required:
Qualification in Cosmetics, Formulation or a related scientific discipline ideal
Proven experience in cosmetics, bath & body or skincare compliance
Up-to-date knowledge of UK and EU cosmetic regulations
Experience with export market registration
Understanding of product development and manufacturing processes
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and test schedules simultaneously
Strong communication skills with a collaborative, personable approach
Confident working cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers and external partners
Numerate and proficient with Microsoft Office
Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership
Experience working with licensed products or hardlines is advantageous
