Position Summary The Senior Inventory Accountant is responsible for the financial management and accounting for OrganOx Stock Globally. Listed below are the major responsibilities of the role and a brief description of some of the key tasks to be performed. This list is not totally exhaustive. Major Responsibilities Under direction from the Financial Controller, the Senior Inventory Accountant will be responsible for: Own and continuously enhance the integrity, accuracy, and performance of the inventory accounting environment, driving improvements in systems, processes, and controls. Act as the lead finance partner for inventory, ensuring robust reconciliation between physical stock, operational systems, and financial records, strengthening confidence in data across the business. Influence and collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Sales, Logistics, and 3PL partners to deliver actionable inventory insights, enabling informed decision-making and optimised financial outcomes. Take full ownership of global Cycle Count stocktake activities according to the SOP, working closely with Internal and third-party logistics providers to ensure accuracy and completeness, while holding internal operational stakeholders accountable for inventory movements and controls. Deliver accurate high-quality month-end and year-end reporting, providing insightful analysis and leading support for statutory audits combined with year-end stocktake requirements with advanced planning, acting as a key liaison with external auditors. Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimisation of best-in-class internal controls and procedures governing inventory management and valuation. Drive visibility and resolution of aged, obsolete, and defective inventory, ensuring accurate financial treatment while clearly articulating commercial and operational impact to senior stakeholders. Play a pivotal role in the ERP transformation, acting as the primary Inventory Finance lead to ensure seamless integration, data integrity, and adoption of improved processes. Own inventory valuation methodologies, ensuring alignment with accounting standards while driving consistency and transparency across all global sites. Establish a strong control environment by proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies across inventory accounting and warehouse operations. Act as a trusted senior member of the finance team, contributing to broader business initiatives and supporting strategic decision-making. Champion a culture of integrity, accountability, and compliance, upholding OrganOx’s Code of Conduct and all company policies. Requirements Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA). A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the credibility and confidence to operate effectively across all levels of the finance function and wider business. Proven experience within inventory accounting in a complex, inventory-driven organisation. Strong technical understanding of inventory accounting principles, including valuation methodologies, intercompany transfers, landed costs, and stock reconciliation processes. Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all outputs. Demonstrated ability to take ownership, critically assess existing processes, and drive continuous improvement through practical and scalable solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the ability to bring structure and control to areas where processes may be developing or undefined. Advanced Excel capabilities, including experience working with large and complex data sets; familiarity with Power Query and other advanced data tools is highly advantageous. Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, with the ability to leverage system capabilities to enhance reporting and control.
