Nursing Assistant
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join our Elderly rehabilitation team on Ward 2 at Blyth Community Hospital as a Nursing Assistant.
Responsibilities include providing a high standard and safe care to all 26 patients, supporting independence and rehabilitation goals, monitoring observations, and assisting with activities of daily living.
Main duties of the job
Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties in hospital; record patient observations and changes to patient clinical conditions; carry out limited clinical care duties; demonstrate compassion and caring towards patients and deliver high standard of care; possess good communication and organisational skills; be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts.
Job responsibilities
* Assist the qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high quality direct and indirect patient care.
* Provide assistance and support to patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team.
* Maintain high clinical standards.
* Help maintain a clean and safe ward environment.
* Work under the supervision of a qualified nurse and assist in the implementation of both direct and non‑direct patient care.
* Provide and promote high quality care under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.
Person Specification
Experience and knowledge
* Previous care experience in a health or social care setting.
* Evidence of completed competencies aligned to the service area.
Qualifications
* Level 3 qualification in a healthcare related subject or a portfolio of equivalent demonstrable experience.
* Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, relevant legislation.
* Completion of a competency‑based programme or equivalent relevant experience.
