We have a vacancy for a Peer Practitioner in our Bipolar Peer Support Service and are looking to recruit someone with lived/living experience of mental ill health, ideally with a Bipolar diagnosis. This is an opportunity for you to use your lived experience of recovery and self-management to provide hope and belief for others, through equal relationships and shared experiences.

This peer role requires someone who is emotionally resilient and would be confident to appropriately share the tools and coping mechanisms that have helped them on their journey to support others.

The team is made up of three practitioners, working in partnership with Bipolar Edinburgh. You would be expected to manage your own caseload and to see approximately 3 people per day for face-to-face support, providing skills and tools to self-manage in their Bipolar recovery journey.


Responsibilities

* Manage your own caseload and provide face-to-face support to individuals in their Bipolar recovery journey (approximately 3 people per day).
* Share coping tools and strategies informed by your lived experience to support others.
* Work in partnership with Bipolar Edinburgh as part of a small multidisciplinary team.


Qualifications and attributes

* Lived or living experience of mental ill health, ideally with a Bipolar diagnosis.
* Emotional resilience and ability to share personal coping strategies appropriate to the role.
* Ability to work within a team and to manage a personal caseload.
